

In the list of India’s self-made entrepreneurs, Eternal founder Deepinder Goyal has secured the number one position this year. He moved ahead of DMart supermarket chain head Radhakishan Damani to claim the top spot. The market valuation of Eternal, the parent company of online food delivery platform Zomato and quick-commerce platform Blinkit, has reached ₹3.2 lakh crore, marking a 27 percent increase compared to last year. Meanwhile, the market value of Avenue Supermarts, DMart’s parent company, declined by 13 percent to ₹3 lakh crore, causing Damani to slip to second place in this year’s rankings.
IndiGo Airlines promoters Rahul Bhatia and Rakesh Gangwal secured the third position, with IndiGo’s market capitalization standing at ₹2.2 lakh crore. This marks the first time that IndiGo’s promoters have entered the top 10. These details were revealed in the “Top 200 Self-Made Entrepreneurs of the Millennia 2025” report jointly released by IDFC First Private Bank and Hurun India. The list includes businesses launched after the year 2000, with a minimum company valuation of ₹4,500 crore. This is the third time IDFC and Hurun have jointly released this ranking.
In fourth place is Abhay Soi, Chairman of Max Healthcare Limited, with a valuation of ₹1,10,700 crore. Telugu entrepreneurs Sriharsha Majety and Nandan Reddy, founders of Swiggy, secured the fifth position. Swiggy’s market value stands at ₹1.06 lakh crore, reflecting a 5 percent increase over the past year.
Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma climbed to eighth place, as Paytm’s valuation rose by 67 percent over the last year to ₹72,900 crore. Lenskart founders Peyush Bansal, Amit Chaudhary, Neha Bansal, and Sumeet Kapahi secured the tenth position, with the company’s valuation growing 60 percent year-on-year to ₹67,000 crore.
The combined market value of the 200 companies on the list has reached ₹42 lakh crore, representing a 15 percent increase from ₹36 lakh crore last year. Together, these companies employ approximately 800,000 people. The number of self-made entrepreneur-led companies valued at over one billion dollars rose to 128 this year, up from 121 in 2024.
City-wise, Bengaluru leads the list with the highest number of companies (52), followed by Mumbai (41), Gurugram (36), Chennai (11), Delhi (10), Hyderabad (8), and Pune (8).
