GST Council Set for a Key Meeting on That Date

The GST Council is scheduled to meet in New Delhi on September 12, with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman set to chair the meeting. Finance ministers from various states are expected to participate in the session. The meeting will be the 58th session of the GST Council.

The Council had last met on September 3 and 4, 2025. Its return to the meeting table after nearly a year has therefore attracted attention. The upcoming discussions are expected to be closely watched by businesses, taxpayers and state governments for decisions related to the Goods and Services Tax framework.
