Anthropic has launched a new AI tool called Interviewer, which is designed to collect user opinions and experiences with AI. It is available for a one-week pilot inside Claude, where it pops up and asks users to take part in short interviews. Interviewer is built on Anthropic’s Claude model and can automatically create questions, conduct interviews, and summarise answers. Earlier, it was used to interview 1,250 professionals from general, scientific, and creative fields, and the company has already published those results. The tool works in three stages: planning the questions, interacting with users, and analysing the responses with help from both AI and human researchers.
The survey results showed that most professionals have a positive view of AI. Around 86% of general workers said AI saves them time, and 65% said they are satisfied with how AI helps in their tasks, mainly by handling routine work so humans can focus on creative or higher-level work. But some scientists and creative professionals raised concerns about job identity, data security, and relying too much on AI for important tasks. The study also found two main ways people use AI: augmentation, where 65% use AI as a collaborator, and automation, where 35% let AI work more independently. Overall, most people prefer AI as a supportive partner rather than a replacement.
