Team India is facing a growing injury concern ahead of the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. Jasprit Bumrah and Sai Sudharsan have already been ruled out due to injuries, and all-rounder Washington Sundar could now miss the second Test as well. Sundar is still recovering from a hamstring injury and is unlikely to join the squad for the second Test in Colombo if he does not regain full fitness.
Sundar suffered the injury during the England series and has since been monitored by the medical team. Even if he achieves full fitness, the team management may avoid immediately playing him in a Test match due to his limited cricket after the injury. His fitness will reportedly be assessed again next week before a final decision is taken. If Sundar is unable to travel to Sri Lanka, the BCCI may have to name a replacement. Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep are also continuing their rehabilitation.
