A case has been registered at Arundalpet Police Station in Guntur against YSRCP leader Ambati Rambabu, former MP Modugula Venugopala Reddy, Guntur East constituency in-charge Noori Fathima and several other party leaders and workers. The case relates to a protest held on the 10th against alleged irregularities in the Mega DSC recruitment process. The protesters marched from Shankar Vilas Centre to the Ambedkar statue despite police denying permission for the demonstration.
According to the complaint filed by Arundalpet SI Eshwara Rao, the protesters allegedly violated provisions of the Police Act and disrupted public transport and traffic, besides creating a situation that could affect public order. Police said the demonstrators were informed that permission had not been granted and were asked not to obstruct traffic, but the protest continued. A total of 17 YSRCP leaders, including Ambati Rambabu, Modugula Venugopala Reddy, Noori Fathima and Rajanarayana, along with several party workers, have been named in the case.
