‘Toxic’ Director Who Acted in Uday Kiran’s Movie

Yash’s upcoming film Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas, is slated for release on August 26 and has generated considerable buzz. The film stars Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria and Huma Qureshi in key roles. The promotional material has hinted at intense action and bold content. The film has reportedly completed censorship and received an ‘A’ certificate.

Geetu Mohandas, who is now known primarily as a filmmaker, also has an extensive acting background. She made her debut as a lead actress with Mohanlal’s Life Is Beautiful and later appeared in Tamil films, including Nala Damayanthi. She also played the second female lead in Poi, directed by legendary filmmaker K. Balachander and starring Uday Kiran. The film was released in Telugu as Abaddham but failed to achieve the expected commercial success. Geetu later shifted her focus to filmmaking and is now looking to make a mark on a pan-Indian scale with Toxic.
