Speculation surrounding Virat Kohli’s future in the IPL has been firmly dismissed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru CEO Rajesh Menon. Reports recently suggested that Kohli could retire from One-Day Internationals after the 2027 ODI World Cup and may also bid farewell to the IPL soon after. However, Menon made it clear that the former India captain remains deeply connected to RCB and is unlikely to step away from the franchise anytime soon.
Describing Kohli and RCB as “two sides of the same coin,” Menon said the franchise cannot imagine a future without him, even after his playing career ends. He expressed confidence that Kohli will continue playing in the IPL for at least another three to four years, citing his exceptional fitness and relentless hunger for runs. Meanwhile, cricket sources indicate that Kohli has begun rehabilitation for his injury and is expected to report to the Centre of Excellence. If his recovery progresses as planned, he is likely to return to action during India’s upcoming ODI series against England.
