

The selection committee meeting to finalize the South Zone squad for the Duleep Trophy was held in Hyderabad. The tournament, organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India for the 2026–27 season, saw participation from representatives of multiple southern states. The meeting was conducted under the supervision of the Andhra Cricket Association, with Sana Satish Babu acting as convener and former Ranji cricketer R.V. Chandramouli Prasad serving as chairman.
The committee, comprising members from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Hyderabad, Goa, Puducherry, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh, finalized a 15-member squad along with support staff. Indian cricketer Tilak Varma from Hyderabad was appointed as captain, while Ricky Bhui from Andhra Pradesh was named vice-captain. Experienced Level-2 coach M.N. Vikram Varma was appointed as head coach, with officials expressing confidence in the team’s balanced composition for a strong performance.
