Saransh Jain Earns Maiden India Test Call

Saransh Jain's long wait for an India cap has finally come to an end after he was named in the Test squad for the upcoming two-match series against Sri Lanka. The 33-year-old Madhya Pradesh all-rounder has been drafted in as a replacement for the injured Washington Sundar ahead of the opening Test. A right-arm off-spinner and dependable left-handed batter, Saransh has built an impressive domestic career with 181 first-class wickets and 2,223 runs since making his debut in 2014.

Saransh comes from a cricketing family, with his father Subodh Jain having represented Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy. He also played a crucial role in Madhya Pradesh's historic Ranji Trophy triumph in 2022 and recently impressed for India A against Sri Lanka A by claiming six wickets and scoring an unbeaten 70. Despite going unsold in the IPL auctions for three consecutive years, his consistent domestic performances have now earned him a deserved opportunity to represent India on the international stage.
