

Indian badminton stars PV Sindhu and Tanvi Sharma secured impressive victories to enter the quarterfinals of the Australian Open on Thursday. Sindhu defeated fellow Indian shuttler Isharani 22-20, 21-12 in the second round, showcasing her experience and composure. Meanwhile, 17-year-old Tanvi Sharma continued her impressive run by overcoming Malvika Bansod 21-13, 21-15 to book her place in the last eight.
In the men's doubles category, the Indian pair of M.R. Arjun and Hariharan advanced to the next round with a convincing 21-17, 21-7 victory over New Zealand's Michael Owen and Dylan Soedjasa. However, India's campaign suffered setbacks in other events as Tanya exited the women's singles competition, while the mixed doubles pair of Dhruv and Manisha were also eliminated from the tournament.
