Lightning Strikes During Football Match… Young Player Dies

A tragic incident occurred in Thailand when a lightning strike hit a football field during an ongoing match, killing 24-year-old player Safwan Awae. The incident took place during the Golok FA Cup tournament in South Thailand. Despite heavy rain, the match continued, and suddenly a loud lightning strike shocked everyone on the field.

Safwan Awae collapsed immediately after being struck, and emergency medical teams rushed to save him but were unable to revive him due to severe injuries. At least 12 other players were also injured in the incident. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, drawing criticism toward the organizers. The Thailand Football Association has expressed deep condolences to the player’s family and team.
