The venue for the opening match of the three-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka has been changed. The first ODI, originally scheduled to take place in Delhi on December 13, will now be held in Visakhapatnam. The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) reportedly stated that ongoing renovation work at the stadium would make it difficult to host the match, prompting the decision to shift the venue.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly approved the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam as the venue for the opening ODI. Weather conditions in Delhi have also been cited as a factor behind the change. Visakhapatnam will now host the India-Sri Lanka opening ODI scheduled for December 13.
