Rajasthan Royals captain and young Indian all-rounder Riyan Parag has suffered a setback after undergoing successful right shoulder surgery in Mumbai. The procedure was performed at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital under the supervision of renowned surgeon Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala. Parag had been dealing with a recurring shoulder injury, which now rules him out of upcoming domestic tournaments.
The 24-year-old Assam cricketer will begin his rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. He is expected to miss a major part of the 2026–27 domestic season, including the Duleep Trophy. Parag, who recently led Rajasthan Royals into the IPL playoffs, earlier withdrew from the India A series due to a hamstring issue. In an emotional social media post, he expressed determination to recover and return stronger to the game he loves.
