Good news for RCB fans! The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) announced on Saturday that Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru has received permission to host IPL and international matches. Matches will be held following the rules and guidelines set by the government and concerned authorities.
Previously, during the IPL 2025 celebrations when RCB won the championship on June 4, a tragic stampede at Chinnaswamy Stadium claimed 11 lives and injured more than 50 people. The state government had set up a judicial commission led by Justice John Michael D’Cunha, which concluded that the stadium was not safe for matches at that time.
Now, with certain conditions in place, the government has allowed matches to be conducted. The IPL 2026 season is set to begin on March 26.
