Key Update on IPL Auction

The auction for the 2027 Indian Premier League (IPL) season is likely to take place in Goa on December 16, according to reports. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly informed all ten franchises about the proposed schedule, news agency PTI reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. A briefing for the franchises is expected to be held on December 15.

The auction is set to return to India after three seasons, according to the report. The previous auctions were reportedly held in Dubai in 2024, Jeddah in 2025 and Abu Dhabi in 2026. The BCCI is yet to issue an official announcement confirming the date and venue.
