In a significant development concerning the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), the High Court has ruled that the appointment of the current HCA President is not valid. The court observed that the appointment made through the Ombudsman's order does not hold legal validity and directed immediate corrective measures.
As part of its order, the court instructed Amarnath, who assumed office as President following the Ombudsman's decision, to step down from his position. The High Court also directed HCA Secretary Jivan Reddy to convene a Special Annual General Meeting (AGM) and initiate the process for electing a new President in accordance with the association's rules and regulations.
