The conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran shows no signs of easing, with tensions continuing to rise in West Asia. According to reports, the administration of Donald Trump is preparing to take the conflict to the next level by considering the deployment of thousands of US troops to the region. As per officials cited by Reuters, the move aims to strengthen military operations and ensure the safety of oil tanker routes passing through the strategically crucial Strait of Hormuz. Discussions are also underway regarding naval and air force support, which may include positioning troops along Iran’s coastal areas.
In addition, the US is reportedly evaluating the possibility of deploying forces near Iran’s key oil export hub, Kharg Island, though officials have warned that such an operation would be highly risky. While several strategic options are being discussed, no final decision has been made, and the Pentagon has not issued an official statement. Meanwhile, the United States Central Command revealed that over 7,800 strikes have been carried out on Iran since the conflict began last month, resulting in the destruction of around 120 Iranian vessels. The ongoing conflict has also led to casualties, with 13 US soldiers killed and nearly 200 injured so far.
