Politics in Telangana are witnessing a new-age makeover — with technology taking center stage in campaigns. Gone are the days of traditional rallies; today’s leaders are blending innovation with emotion to reach voters. In the Jubilee Hills by-election, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has sparked buzz with a unique digital campaign revolving around the much-talked-about “Hydra” project. Using technology as his ally, KTR has turned the controversial issue into a powerful election tool.
At roadshows and public meetings, large LED screens play videos of “Hydra victims” - families whose houses were demolished, women in tears narrating their pain, and voices demanding justice. Through this emotional outreach, KTR is appealing to voters to “vote for the car symbol” if they wish to stop such incidents. He accuses the Congress government of destroying thousands of homes under the guise of the Hydra project, calling it a betrayal of the poor. “They speak of Indiramma Rajyam, but they crushed the dreams of the poor,” KTR said, urging people to elect BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha.
Whether this emotional “Hydra” campaign will win hearts - and votes - remains to be seen.
