Aleti Maheshwar Reddy stated that the party will strongly question the government on public issues during the ongoing session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly. He alleged that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi has failed to perform its role as the main opposition in the state. According to him, the Bharatiya Janata Party is effectively playing the role of the principal opposition by raising the concerns of the people inside and outside the Assembly.
Maheshwar Reddy said the party will demand discussions on farmers’ issues, the pending implementation of the Rythu Bharosa scheme, and the demolition of houses belonging to the poor. He also called on the government to clarify the status of the six guarantees promised to the people. Referring to the development of the Sabarmati River, he noted that local communities supported that project, whereas in Hyderabad, houses of the poor are allegedly being demolished in the name of the Musi River development. He further alleged that law and order in the state has deteriorated and that drugs are becoming easily available.
