With the Assembly elections approaching, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay is carefully evaluating the constituency from which he will contest. Party sources indicate that constituencies beginning with the letter “V” are under consideration, as part of internal discussions and strategic planning. Reports suggest that Velachery and Virugambakkam in Chennai are among the frontrunners, given their local political dynamics and the party’s grassroots presence. Vikravandi, Vedaranyam and Vedasandur are also said to be under review.
Speculation is rife that Vijay may keep his choice confidential until the final stages to counter potential political strategies from rival parties, particularly the DMK, which is reportedly preparing to field a strong candidate against him. Having already been declared the party’s chief ministerial face, interest in his electoral debut has intensified. Observers note that Virugambakkam holds personal significance as his parents reside there, while Velachery is close to his Panaiyur residence and party office. The final announcement is expected closer to the election schedule.
