The Jagan Government Provided House Pattas to TTD Employees – Former TTD Chairman Bhumana

Former TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy said the credit for providing house-site pattas to TTD employees belonged to the previous government. Responding to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s reported remarks about house pattas being provided to TTD employees in 2023, Bhumana said the pattas were distributed under the then Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He recalled that efforts had been made earlier during the tenure of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, but the process was delayed due to court cases. According to Bhumana, the process was completed after Jagan Mohan Reddy became Chief Minister, and house sites were provided to employees at a nominal price after officials said free allotment was not permitted under the rules. He also said around 1,200 acres were prepared for TTD employees and retired employees. Official TTD records show that the employee housing-site distribution process was underway in 2023, followed by multiple phases of patta distribution in 2024.

Bhumana questioned whether Chandrababu Naidu had ever provided house sites to TTD employees during his long tenure as Chief Minister. He also criticised some of Chandrababu’s past remarks regarding employment and permanent jobs. Bhumana said that if Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy returned as Chief Minister, his party would fill vacant posts and provide 75 per cent reservation for locals, according to his statement. He made these remarks while addressing the issue of TTD employees’ housing sites and employment opportunities.
