Police personnel were deployed in large numbers to bring the situation under control.
Tension was also reported in Nandalur in Kadapa district, where locals allegedly stopped vehicles carrying groups of outsiders who had arrived from Tirupati, Proddatur and Jammalamadugu. Police took some of them into custody and shifted them to the police station. In Chilakapalem village of Balijipeta mandal in Parvathipuram Manyam district, a scuffle broke out between TDP and YSRCP workers after an attempt by YSRCP leaders to enter a polling centre was reportedly opposed by TDP cadres. Meanwhile, a heated argument between YSRCP and Jana Sena leaders at the Garividi polling station in Vizianagaram district escalated into a scuffle. A YSRCP leader allegedly assaulted a Jana Sena woman leader in the presence of YSRCP ZPTC candidate Botsa Poojitha.
