Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu made candid remarks during a recent Collectors’ Conference, stating that despite efforts by the government, public satisfaction remains low. His comments have triggered wide political discussion and reactions across the state.
Addressing the collectors, Chandrababu Naidu said,
“We believe that we are doing good work. I personally feel that I have performed well. But ultimately, what we think is not reflecting outside. If the stakeholders for whom we are working the people are not satisfied, then something is clearly going wrong.”
The Chief Minister’s admission that governance outcomes are not meeting public expectations has become a major talking point. Political circles suggest that internal surveys and feedback reports may have presented uncomfortable realities to the leadership.
Critics point out that alleged high-handed behavior by coalition representatives, delays in decision-making, and slow implementation of welfare measures have contributed to growing dissatisfaction. Several issues affecting daily life continue to see prolonged delays, with many citizens feeling that tangible change is yet to be seen even after months.
The government’s handling of the Amaravati capital project has also drawn criticism. Despite declaring the capital’s development as a top priority, progress on resolving farmers’ issues related to land pooling and compensation has been minimal. Opponents argue that assurances have remained largely verbal, with little action on the ground.
Political observers note that Chandrababu Naidu’s remarks are likely to boost the morale of the opposition YSR Congress Party while also causing unease within the ruling coalition.
