Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has decided to personally monitor the quality of road construction works across rural Andhra Pradesh. Emphasizing that public money must be used responsibly, Pawan said he would visit several project sites along with technical experts to ensure every road meets the prescribed standards. In a review meeting with officials from the Panchayat Raj and Engineering departments, he made it clear that there would be zero tolerance for substandard work. “No officer will be spared if poor-quality materials are used or procedures are ignored,” he warned. Pawan revealed that the state recently received ₹2,000 crore from the central government under the SASCI scheme to restore and improve damaged rural roads. He instructed officials to give priority to the most affected routes and ensure transparency in execution.
Criticizing the previous government for failing to utilize available funds properly, Pawan said, “People deserve roads that are strong, durable, and built to national standards. Visible improvement must be seen in every constituency.” He added that the coalition government is determined to deliver long-lasting infrastructure and better connectivity to rural communities by making effective use of the allocated funds.
