Deputy Chief Minister and Janasena Party chief Pawan Kalyan is reportedly unhappy with the performance of a few MLAs from his own party. During a review meeting held in Mangalagiri on Saturday evening, Pawan is said to have expressed disappointment over their lack of seriousness and public engagement.
Earlier that day, after attending a government function, Pawan reached the Janasena Party office to interact with MLAs and MLCs. The meeting had been scheduled two days prior, and all attendees were instructed to come prepared with reports on the issues in their respective constituencies. While many MLAs attended as directed, a few skipped the meeting — some with prior permission and two without even informing the party. This, according to sources, did not sit well with the party chief.Pawan reportedly questioned a senior MLA from the Godavari region over neglecting local-level responsibilities. He also criticized certain leaders for not maintaining proper contact with the people or doing enough groundwork in their areas.
The Deputy CM is also said to have questioned why some Janasena legislators remained silent during recent Assembly debates, especially on key issues like pollution and public grievances. Pawan reminded his team that the government belongs to everyone and that each leader must actively participate in development programs rather than keeping a distance. He cautioned that the negligence of a few leaders could harm the party’s credibility. Calling for unity and accountability, Pawan emphasized the importance of teamwork:
“Those who got tickets are not the only capable ones. Every worker in Janasena deserves recognition. We must work together for the people and the organization.”
Pawan’s firm tone, sources say, reflects his intent to bring greater discipline, responsibility, and visibility among Janasena’s elected representatives as the party strengthens its presence across Andhra Pradesh.
