The long-standing debate over Andhra Pradesh’s capital has picked up pace once again, with strong signs that the official Gazette naming Amaravati as the state capital may be released during the December Parliament session. CRDA has reportedly accelerated the legal and administrative groundwork needed for the upcoming bill.
According to sources, the CRDA Commissioner recently met with Amaravati farmers and informed them that the bill related to the Gazette is likely to be introduced in Parliament in December. The legal department is said to be reviewing multiple technical aspects to ensure the bill proceeds without any procedural issues.
During internal discussions, the Commissioner is also believed to have clarified an important point as of now, no city in Andhra Pradesh has an officially published Gazette declaring it as the capital. This has become a crucial reference point in the ongoing legal process.
With the government showing urgency and the winter session approaching, Amaravati farmers are hopeful that the long-pending issue of capital finalization may finally reach a decisive legal milestone.
