The Revanth Reddy-led Telangana government is preparing to significantly expand night-time economic activity across the state, with a special focus on Hyderabad. The administration aims to create a vibrant ecosystem where business, employment, cultural events, tourism and commercial activities continue seamlessly even after dark.
With the state targeting a 3 trillion dollar economy by 2047, the government has outlined strong long-term strategies to strengthen the night economy through public–private partnerships.
Plans include promoting late-night cultural events, state festivals, heritage walks and setting up modern food courts in Hyderabad to attract visitors and support MSMEs with robust safety and operational systems. A dedicated safety mechanism for women working or travelling at night is also in the works. The government is preparing to launch a single-window platform for permissions, bookings and other clearances to streamline night-time operations.
Hyderabad is home to lakhs of IT professionals and employees working around the clock, and plays a crucial role in Telangana’s GSDP. Strengthening night-time activities is expected to contribute significantly to the state’s growth.
As part of these efforts, the government has prepared detailed strategies and a 20-year development roadmap in the ‘Telangana Rising Vision 2047’ document, which will be presented at the upcoming Global Summit on the 8th and 9th of this month.
