Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has declined to respond directly to Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge’s open letter seeking details about the organisation’s registration, funding, finances, and operations. Speaking at an RSS centenary outreach event, Bhagwat described the demand as politically motivated and said such criticisms have become routine for the organisation. He remarked that political attacks and allegations are common and that the RSS has grown accustomed to them over the years.
Bhagwat emphasized that the RSS functions transparently and is not a secretive organisation. He stated that the organisation conducts its activities openly in public spaces and regularly informs people about its work. Defending the RSS’s legal status, he argued that registration is not mandatory in every case and pointed out that several institutions and traditions operate without formal registration. Bhagwat reiterated that the RSS continues to work openly and remains committed to its social and cultural activities.
