Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that people in Kerala are looking for a political change. He said the public sentiment clearly indicates a desire for transformation in the state. Speaking at a public rally in Palakkad during the Assembly election campaign, he addressed various issues. He strongly criticized both the LDF and UDF alliances, stating that they have alternated in power for decades without focusing on the state's development. According to him, both alliances have failed to fulfill their promises to the people.
He also mentioned that Kerala’s politics has been driven by self-interest, and accused these parties of working together at the national level while acting as rivals within the state. Highlighting the financial situation, Modi said the state's debt has crossed ₹5 lakh crore and has increased rapidly in recent years. He also pointed out delays in salary payments to government employees. He assured that if the NDA comes to power, it will recover misused funds from corruption and utilize them for the development of Kerala.
Polling in Kerala is scheduled for April 9, and the counting of votes will take place on May 4.
