The Telugu film industry is heading into a busy release season, with romantic dramas and youth-oriented stories expected to dominate theatres over the next two months. Alongside big-ticket productions, several mid-budget films featuring fresh pairings and different storytelling approaches are preparing to reach audiences. The growing interest in these projects indicates that content-driven romantic entertainers could have a strong presence at the box office.
Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya, who earned recognition with Baby, are set to return as a pair with Epic, scheduled for release on September 11. The film is reportedly being positioned as a spin-off of 90s – A Middle Class Biopic and has generated curiosity among younger audiences. Meanwhile, Romanchakam, presented by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and produced by Bhadrakali Pictures, is scheduled to release on September 3. Sumanth Prabhas and Ananthika Sanilkumar play the lead roles in the rural-set love story. Ashok Galla and Sri Gouri Priya’s Visa is expected to arrive in mid-October and is said to explore love and emotional experiences among youngsters against an overseas backdrop, with Shivathmika Rajasekhar in a key role. Several other mid-budget projects are also lined up, potentially making the upcoming season an interesting one for Tollywood.
