Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra ended their protest outside the Parliament Street Police Station in Delhi after police registered an FIR over injuries suffered by 19-year-old Lochav during a student protest at Jantar Mantar last month. Delhi Police registered the case under Sections 118 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi, accompanied by Congress leaders, took Lochav to the police station after alleging that his complaint was not being registered. Rahul staged a protest outside the station, insisting that he would not leave until the complaint was formally recorded. He alleged that the student had suffered pellet-related injuries and that metal fragments remained in his body. After police registered the FIR, Rahul, Priyanka and other Congress leaders ended their protest and left the premises.
