Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized parties like Indian National Congress, Samajwadi Party, All India Trinamool Congress, and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam for allegedly obstructing the Constitutional Amendment Bill aimed at implementing women’s reservation. He assured that his government is committed to ensuring reservation for women in legislative bodies.
Addressing a women’s gathering in Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency, Modi sought public blessings to achieve the goal of women’s reservation in Parliament and State Assemblies. On the same occasion, he also flagged off two Amrit Bharat Express trains connecting Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
