Telangana Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar criticized BJP State President Ramchander Rao, alleging that he was making baseless accusations to gain political relevance. Addressing the media in Hyderabad, the minister urged the BJP leader to focus on securing financial assistance from the Central Government to help Telangana tackle the challenges arising from the El Niño situation instead of targeting the state government. He also said the proposed legislation would be discussed in the Assembly, where all political parties would have an opportunity to express their views.
Defending the Congress government, Ponnam Prabhakar stated that it respects democratic values and believes in holding detailed discussions before taking policy decisions. He alleged that Ramchander Rao, who is not a member of any legislative body, was making unnecessary remarks ahead of the Assembly session for political mileage. The minister also challenged the BJP to clarify its stand on housing for the poor in the GHMC limits and urged the party to pressure the Centre for additional funds and development projects for Telangana rather than engaging in political criticism.
