Farmers in the capital region welcomed the new coalition government with high expectations. They hoped that, unlike the difficulties faced under the previous YSRCP administration, everything would run smoothly under the coalition. However, the reality has turned out differently, leaving the farmers dissatisfied. Despite repeatedly highlighting their issues to CRDA officials and ministers, farmers feel their grievances remain unresolved. The use of social media by farmers to post videos and messages about their problems has drawn irritation from the authorities. Minister Narayana, who has overseen municipal affairs of the capital from the beginning, expressed his displeasure over this online activity.
Recently, the capital farmers held a meeting highlighting around 14 different issues. They warned that if these problems are not resolved, they would protest next month. Taking note of this, Minister Narayana conducted an inspection tour in the capital area. According to the minister, all types of basic infrastructure will be provided in the capital within three years. Out of 69,421 plots, 61,433 have already been registered, and around 30–40 plots are being registered daily. Some farmers are demanding specific plots of their choice. Registrations for NRIs will be processed when they return. The minister also criticized farmers for unnecessarily posting on social media. Minister Narayana emphasized that addressing the issues of capital farmers is a responsibility that must be taken seriously.
