Former minister and Siddipet MLA Harish Rao criticized the Congress party over the rejection of the Rajya Sabha nomination filed by Meenakshi Natarajan from Madhya Pradesh. Speaking at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad, he alleged that Congress leaders from Telangana themselves leaked information that led to the nomination being challenged. Harish Rao questioned who within the Congress shared the details and demanded that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy order a SIT or judicial inquiry into the matter.
Harish Rao further alleged that internal differences within the Congress were responsible for the controversy. He also criticized the state government over expenditure on official facilities, claiming that ₹100 crore was spent on a residence near the Chief Minister’s house, ₹17 crore on security fencing, ₹10 crore on a football facility, and over ₹70 crore on related works despite an initial sanction of ₹7 crore. He questioned the government’s priorities, stating that funds should be utilized for public welfare and student fee reimbursement.
