The TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams) has undertaken key measures to accelerate the preparation of free meals (Anna Prasadam) served to devotees of Lord Srivaru. As part of the modernization of the Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam Center, state-of-the-art 'three-jacketed' vessels are being installed to replace the older steam-based cooking vessels. Construction of a new shed at the rear of the center is currently underway, along with the installation of a total of 22 such vessels.
This new system possesses the capacity to cook 1,320 kilograms of rice simultaneously across all 22 vessels, with each vessel holding 60 kilograms. While it previously took 25 minutes to cook a single batch of rice, the process is now completed in a mere 15 to 20 minutes. These changes were implemented in response to the increased strain on cooking equipment during peak days, when the number of devotees often surges to 100,000.
These advanced cooking units were donated by benefactors and were successfully utilized during the recent Sri Rama Navami celebrations at Ontimitta. The system is set to be fully operational in Tirumala very soon.
