Political tensions have surfaced within the Karnataka Congress government after senior leader and minister Ramalinga Reddy reportedly resigned from the Cabinet over the allocation of portfolios. Sources indicate that Reddy had sought the Bengaluru Urban Development portfolio but was instead assigned the Irrigation Department. Dissatisfied with the decision, he submitted his resignation, triggering fresh debate over the distribution of ministerial responsibilities within the government.
Ramalinga Reddy expressed disappointment, alleging that he had been repeatedly sidelined despite his seniority and contributions to the party. He also accused Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar of failing to honour assurances made during discussions on cabinet formation. The development has exposed internal differences within the Congress, creating political uncertainty just two days after the formation of the new Cabinet.
