Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made strong remarks during the 'Water - The Truth' discussion in the Telangana Legislative Assembly regarding Krishna River projects and water allocations. He alleged that the combined Mahbubnagar district (Palamuru) suffered grave injustice not only during the undivided state but also during the last ten years of BRS rule. As someone who has personally witnessed drought and poverty, he emphasized the need for the public to know the truth about water issues.
The Chief Minister expressed strong displeasure over the absence of opposition leader KCR, who initiated the discussion. He said they expected the experienced former Chief Minister to attend the assembly and offer advice and suggestions, but criticized him for prioritizing the party over the people. He stated that words spoken in the legislature hold more value than those spoken in public meetings, and KCR's absence reflects the BRS's attitude towards the legislative assembly.
Revanth Reddy said they wanted to directly question KCR about the injustice done to the state regarding the Krishna projects. He reminded everyone that the allocation of 490 TMC of water to 24 projects was done during the undivided state. He stated that they wanted to present before the public who was responsible for this, and even suggested forming a fact-finding committee if necessary. Ultimately, the Chief Minister said, the people themselves will decide what the truth is.
