BRS leader and Assembly Deputy Floor Leader T. Harish Rao strongly criticized the High Court’s verdict on the Ghosh Commission report, stating that it violates fundamental rights and natural justice principles. He said the court has clearly ruled that the report cannot be considered valid and no action should be taken based on it, calling it a “setback for the Congress government.” Harish Rao accused the Congress of spreading false propaganda over the Kaleshwaram project, claiming that two pillars at Medigadda alone were exaggerated to suggest massive losses. He demanded immediate repairs to the damaged pillars to restore irrigation benefits to farmers.
Speaking to the media, Harish Rao alleged that the Congress government has been targeting the previous BRS regime with false cases and political vendetta since before and after the elections. He said Kaleshwaram is a lifeline project providing drinking water to 70% of Telangana, including Hyderabad, and irrigation to 37 lakh acres. He accused the government of diverting attention from its failures and said the BRS will continue to expose corruption despite suspension threats and inquiries. He also questioned Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar, demanding clarity on river water disputes and alleged injustice to Telangana.
