In recent times, criticism has been mounting over the style of functioning of PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud. Party leaders believe that his comments to the media are creating confusion not only within the party but also at the government level. They have expressed concern that if this approach continues in the future, it could lead to unnecessary controversies.
During his recent visit to Delhi, Mahesh Kumar Goud openly shared his views with the media on internal matters related to both the party and the government, which has become a subject of debate. While it is natural for him to speak on party-related issues in his capacity as PCC president, senior leaders have pointed out that commenting on government affairs is not appropriate. Matters such as cabinet reshuffles and changes in ministerial portfolios fall entirely under the jurisdiction of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who will take final decisions after consulting the party high command.
Senior leaders also note that although it is natural for a party president to be aware of developments within the government, such matters should be handled with discretion and not discussed publicly. They argue that remarks about a possible cabinet reshuffle give the impression of interference in government affairs. Similarly, his public comments on the performance of IAS officers have drawn criticism, with party circles stating that assessing officials’ performance is the responsibility of the Chief Minister and ministers. Such public remarks, they feel, only provide ammunition to the opposition.
