Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin strongly criticized what they described as America’s attempt to dominate global affairs and called for the establishment of a multipolar world order. During Putin’s visit to Beijing, the two leaders signed a “Multipolar World Declaration,” reaffirming their commitment to opposing unilateral dominance and strengthening long-term strategic cooperation. The joint statement accused certain nations of trying to impose their preferences on the rest of the world and obstruct the sovereign development of other countries. Xi Jinping stated that Western nations were engaging in unilateral actions that undermine global stability and could push the world toward disorder. Both leaders emphasized that China-Russia relations are built on mutual respect, equality, trust, and mutually beneficial cooperation.
The two countries also signed around 20 agreements covering trade, technology, and governance reforms aimed at reshaping the global order. Putin reiterated Russia’s support for the “One China” policy, firmly stating that Taiwan is an inseparable part of China and opposing any form of Taiwanese independence. China and Russia also jointly criticized the United States and Israel over military actions against Iran, calling the attacks illegal and destabilizing for West Asia. Xi Jinping urged an immediate end to the regional crisis and warned against further escalation in the Gulf region. The joint statement additionally criticized former US President Donald Trump’s proposed “Golden Dome” defence initiative, arguing that it could threaten international security and global stability. Both leaders agreed to extend the China-Russia cooperation agreement originally signed 25 years ago.
