Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil and discussed key issues related to the Tummidihatti project. Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy and Members of Parliament also participated in the meeting. The Chief Minister urged the Union Minister to intervene and facilitate discussions with Maharashtra regarding the increase in the project’s height.
Revanth Reddy informed that Maharashtra had earlier agreed to a construction height of 148 meters and requested support to secure approval for increasing it to 150 meters. He explained that even with the increased height, the submergence area would remain below 1,000 hectares. The Chief Minister also highlighted that the project would enable water supply through gravity, eliminating the need for costly lift irrigation.
