The Union Government said that over the past 12 years, increased revenues have not remained idle in the treasury but have been redirected to public welfare and development. On the completion of 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led government, the Centre released a comprehensive booklet highlighting achievements across sectors. It stated that India is emerging as a $5 trillion economy with major reforms in taxation, governance, and infrastructure. The government emphasized that the growth in tax collections has directly contributed to investments in roads, healthcare, and welfare schemes.
The booklet highlighted strong achievements in national security, health, infrastructure, and welfare schemes. It mentioned initiatives like Operation Sindoor, expansion of digital governance, and self-reliance in defence production. Under Ayushman Bharat, 43 crore cards were issued, helping beneficiaries save nearly ₹1.25 lakh crore in healthcare costs. Rail electrification reached 99.6%, new railway tracks expanded by 36,000 km, and major projects like Vande Bharat trains and Chenab bridge were showcased. Tax reforms, GST implementation, and increased income tax exemption limits were credited with boosting compliance and easing the burden on the middle class.
