Chandrababu Calls for People Centric Governance

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu urged district collectors to work without ego and focus on serving the people. Addressing the 8th District Collectors’ Conference in Amaravati, he asked officials to review the decisions taken at the previous conference and work towards achieving the set targets. Naidu said the state economy had been put back on track over the past 27 months, with ₹1.40 lakh crore spent on welfare and ₹1.50 lakh crore on development. He also highlighted initiatives such as Rayalaseema Rising, a new growth vision for Coastal Andhra and development programmes for North Andhra.

Naidu said key projects including Handri-Neeva, the first phase of the Veligonda project, the Polavaram Left Canal and the Bhogapuram International Airport had been completed. He said the Polavaram project would be completed and dedicated to the nation by March 2027. Stressing the importance of water security, he said linking major rivers and creating a national water grid could accelerate India’s development. He credited ministers, officials, employees, public representatives and support from the central government for the progress achieved so far, describing it as a collective team success.

The Chief Minister called for reforms across every department and stressed the need for proactive governance. He said technology and data-driven systems should be used to speed up decision-making and improve the quality of public services. He also noted that water security had become a challenge due to deficient rainfall this year. Meanwhile, Naidu said the Union Cabinet had approved additional railway lines on the Renigunta–Arakkonam route. The project involves 46 km of railway lines in Andhra Pradesh at a cost of ₹1,157 crore and is expected to benefit Tirupati and Chittoor districts. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for supporting the state’s railway infrastructure.
