Senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stated that victory in the upcoming municipal elections is aimed at safeguarding the future of Telangana rather than merely gaining power. Addressing the ‘Vijaya Sankalpa Sammelanam’ held in Mahabubnagar, party leaders alleged that the state was witnessing poor governance and accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of indulging in vote-bank politics. They criticised the state government for allegedly reducing allocations to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes while focusing on minority vote consolidation. Leaders also claimed that the government failed to protect Hindu temples and traditions, raising concerns over alleged incidents affecting religious institutions.
The leaders further highlighted development initiatives undertaken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including proposals for high-speed rail corridors connecting Hyderabad with major cities and the establishment of industrial corridors. Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy accused the state government of failing to fulfil electoral promises and alleged political understandings between opposition leaders including Rahul Gandhi and K. Chandrashekar Rao. BJP leaders urged party workers to strengthen booth-level performance, aiming to increase vote share in future elections and expand the party’s political presence in the state.
