The Andhra Pradesh Congress Political Affairs Committee (PAC) held a meeting at Andhra Ratna Bhavan in Vijayawada on September 19. Andhra Pradesh Congress in-charge P.V. Mohan attended the meeting, while APCC president Y.S. Sharmila Reddy participated through a video call. The meeting focused on strengthening the party organisation and preparing for the upcoming local body elections. The PAC meeting had been scheduled to bring together senior Congress leaders to discuss the party’s electoral preparedness.
During the meeting, Sharmila called on party workers to work with renewed energy for the local body elections and stressed the need to select strong candidates. She also urged leaders to put an end to internal group politics and focus on strengthening the Congress organisation. Sharmila said the party should work towards fulfilling the political objectives associated with former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Rahul Gandhi, and described the Congress as a secular party that stands for equality. She also welcomed P.V. Mohan’s appointment as the state in-charge and said his experience and guidance could be used for strengthening the party in Andhra Pradesh.
