Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reaffirmed that Amaravati will remain the one and only capital of the state, stating that it has both legal and constitutional backing through an Assembly resolution. Addressing the Assembly, he emphasized that Amaravati is the “heart and soul” of Andhra Pradesh and assured that no force can alter its status. He highlighted that development works worth ₹56,000 crore are currently underway, with major infrastructure projects expected to be completed between 2027 and 2028. Naidu also credited farmers for voluntarily pooling 34,400 acres of land within 54 days, calling it a historic contribution toward the future of five crore people.
Criticizing Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and the previous government, Naidu alleged that Amaravati’s progress was deliberately stalled, pushing the state back by decades. He accused the former regime of creating confusion with the three-capital proposal and suppressing protests by farmers, including women. Recalling the state bifurcation, he also questioned Jagan’s absence in Parliament during critical debates. Naidu reiterated his vision to develop Amaravati as a world-class city surpassing Hyderabad, while also stressing that both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana should progress together for the benefit of Telugu people.
