India’s upcoming tour of Bangladesh is facing fresh uncertainty, with the two cricket boards still discussing the dates of the six match series. The tour, which was originally scheduled for 2025 and later postponed to 2026, is set to feature three ODIs and three T20Is. Recent reports indicate that the series could be pushed back again as the opening match approaches.
Bangladesh Cricket Board president Tamim Iqbal said discussions with the BCCI are continuing and the dates could be adjusted. The BCB had also announced a domestic Game Development Trophy from August 28 to September 9, but Tamim clarified that the local tournament can be shifted to another venue once the India series dates are finalised. He stressed that hosting India remains a priority.
The biggest hurdle remains the final clearance for India’s tour. While Tamim has expressed confidence that Bangladesh can provide adequate security and remains hopeful that the Indian team will travel, there is still no final clarity on the schedule. The uncertainty has left fans waiting to know whether the much-anticipated white ball series will go ahead as planned or be postponed once again.
