Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for stronger cooperation between China and Russia to restore balance in global governance and ensure the fair implementation of international rules. He urged both countries to work closely within platforms such as BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) to strengthen multilateral cooperation.
During his meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Beijing, Xi criticised the “unilateral and aggressive” approach of US President Donald Trump and called for intensified efforts by China and Russia to counter such policies. He stressed the need to prevent the world from sliding into disorder, emphasising the importance of restoring multilateralism and international law, while reaffirming mutual trust and strategic cooperation between the two nations.
