Actor Arya, known for his work in Tamil and Telugu cinema, has landed in controversy over his recent comments during the promotions of his upcoming film Mr. X. While sharing his experiences from the past, he spoke about his time spent in Varanasi during the shooting of Naan Kadavul. His remarks about sadhus in the region have now gone viral and triggered widespread debate on social media.
Arya stated that while many sadhus are genuine, a section of them could be fake, claiming that some individuals might disguise themselves to escape from legal issues. He mentioned that a certain percentage of such cases may exist, adding that some do not carry identity proof and frequently move locations. These statements have drawn mixed reactions, with some supporting his observations and others criticizing them as insensitive.
